Choosing a contractor Terrascapes works with a variety of contractors who have been screened for quality and price. We prefer to use our contractors of choice since we are comfortable with their work ethic and price points. Our firm does an excellent job of matching contractors with clients based on budget and scope of work. Terrascapes is aware that some clients prefer to choose their own contractors. However, this still requires us to meet with the contractor at the job site to review the site for budget estimates. If you choose to use your own contractor there is an extra fee for meeting these contractors on site. Visit Services and Fees for the cost of interviewing contractors and sub-contractors. Plant Selection and Placement All plant materials are hand selected from top quality nurseries by Terrascapes trained staff. Proper plant selection insures the lowest risk of plant loss after installation. To ensure proper design placement, a Terrascapes employee will layout all the selected plant material for the assigned contractor. Installation Once Terrascapes and the client have agreed upon the contractor, the project design is scheduled for installation. Contractors are very busy during the growing season and sometimes require a lead-time of two to three months in advance. The earlier you get your design done the better. The best time to have a design done is during fall and winter. This way you can be the first scheduled for a spring installation. This allows the maximum time for your new plants to get established in their new homes. Observation Terrascapes insists on observing all installations to insure that your design is installed properly. Terrascapes does its best to screen contractors for price, ethics and efficiency; however, we do not have control over the seasonal planting help that is renewed annually. Proper planting technique and placement are insured by our staff presence. Irrigation and Lighting Terrascapes does not guarantee any plant material unless a proper irrigation system is in place. Irrigation and lighting contractors can be recommended upon request. The next step. . . Landscape Care
