These non-native plant species are overachievers. Once established in natural areas, they out compete native species. Invasive plants cause profound environmental and economic damage, and are a major threat to native habitats worldwide. Some invasives have escaped from our home gardens and public plantings into natural areas. Each state has different problematic plants.

Pruning: What is it and Why do it?
Pruning involves the selective removal of specific parts of a plant for the benefit of the whole plant. Pruning can dwarf a plant, make it grow taller, open the canopy or make it denser.
